Program Manager - Infrastructure Solutions

Facebook is seeking a Program Manager to join our Infrastructure Connectivity team to help us make the internet affordable and available to everyone in the world. We are looking for someone that shares our passion for tackling complexity head-on and to help build programs that can scale through multiple orders of magnitude. You will also work with the Infrastructure team to analyze and resolve the issues reported by teams and evaluate possible improvements.  As a Program Manager, you will play a key role within infrastructure, driving huge projects that span the organization. This person will collaborate and support our efforts to make the internet affordable and available to everyone in the world. Facebook’s infrastructure is constantly redefining what is possible, and we need program managers that can do the same. This full time contractor position is based in our main office in Menlo Park.



  • Ability to work with others on cross-functional connectivity projects across the globe covering a range of technologies (cell tower, CPEs, UEs, small cells, network, hardware systems, infrastructure software engineering, capacity management).
  • Heavy focus on bridging the gap between internal and external stakeholders; Includes market research and related strategic guidance.
  • Drive and influence Facebook-wide XFN
    • Run weekly syncs to maintain proactive stance/awareness about issues
    • Handle on-boarding/vendor provisioning as needed
    • Conduct market research on latest technology/best solutions
    • Update guidance, process flows, policies/procedures on our wiki
    • Compile and disseminate bi-weekly reporting
  • Budget ownership on a program basis.
  • Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices, and prioritize resources in the areas that will deliver the greatest impact.
  • Perform risk management and mitigation.
  • Internal and external consensus-building (at all levels and across industries)
  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business audienceorganization
  • Will be expected to have complete ownership and improvement of existing programs, select optimal techniques for obtaining solutions, and able to represent our group both internally and externally.
  • May require frequent travel to various parts of the world.

Minimum Qualifications

  • General project management skills (detail-oriented, good planner, ability to move between big picture and checklist, interacts effectively with all levels, common-sense approach).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt, learn new skill sets, and gain an understanding of operational challenges.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills with focus under pressure.
  • Independent and thorough in examination and analysis, along with being consensus-building and results-oriented.
  • Experience in building relationships and collaborating within a global, cross-functional team
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills along with multitasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment.
  • Sharp and tenacious troubleshooting skills: you can fix anything.
  • Preferred experience/skills:
    • Experience with wireless telecommunications systems. However, too much telecom experience is likely going to be a detriment.
    • Equipment deployment in emerging markets is a plus.
    • Web or Internet start-up environment and technical infrastructure management experience a big plus.

BA or BS degree.
